Davis Stampede Half Marathon Training Week 5 & Weekly Wrap 1/18-1/24

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 1/18 - Rest day. MLK day so no school. Went for a hike with the fam at Consumnes River Preserve. Trip report post coming up this week on the blog!
Tuesday 1/19 - 5.35 mile run.
Wednesday 1/20 - Early 4.6 mile run with a friend.
Thursday 1/21 - Strength training and 3 mile run.
Friday 1/22 - Running rest day but did some stairs at the stadium and a mile walk around the track while 6 year old had soccer.
Saturday 1/23 - Rest
Sunday 1/24 - 10 mile long run and 4 mile hike with the fam.
I had a pretty good week of running and cross training. I'm happy I got in another strength training workout and was not sore the next day like last week. The hike on Sunday was steep so we'll see how the legs feel on Monday. 

As to the weekend. Saturday morning started out once again with kiddos basketball. No local run club this week since the games were earlier and they had pictures and with overlapping, I had to be there. Plus I wanted to see the kiddos games. They are so fun to watch.

4 Year old is pretty good. Check out this video Hubby compiled of highlights of the game. 
6 year old did great too, but he's not as aggressive as his younger brother.
After the basketball games, we tried a new sushi place in Woodland, Osaka Sushi. Hubby and I were much happier with this place. The salmon was a lot better. :)
Later in the afternoon, we went to a birthday party for one of 6 year old's classmates. It was a good time. Got to chat with other parents and the kiddos had a blast. They had a Game Truck and I'd say it's a hit for parties. The kids love it and the parents don't have to supervise much because the kids are so into the video games. It's a win win for parents and kids.

Sunday started with my 10 mile long run. It was a decent run. Hydrated with my usual Nuun in my Simple Hydration bottle. I've been using the bottle now for a couple of years and love it! 
I'm happy to announce that I'm part of the Simple Hydration Run Team again this year.
On Sunday we also went on a hike up to Billy's Hill and to Cortina Ridge. It was an awesome hike, a bit steep especially for the kiddos but they did awesome! Trip report will be up on the blog hopefully this week too, but if not next week for sure.
It was so awesome, I had to get a jump shot with the cool scenery in the background! :)
