Davis Stampede Half Marathon Training Week 8 & Weekly Wrap 2/8-2/14

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 2/8 - Rest
Tuesday 2/9 - 5 mile run
Wednesday 2/10 - 45 minute run with a friend. I accidentally stopped my GPS watch so I'm not sure of exact distance, but I'm guessing we did about 5 miles. It was a good run.
Thursday 2/11 - Sick
Friday 2/12 - Rest
Saturday 2/13 - Rest
Sunday 2/14 - 6.5 mile run.
The week did not go as planned, at least from Thursday onward. I ended up getting sick and the first day I had a sore throat, felt achy, and just did not want to do anything. On Friday I felt better but still was not feeling like running. My cousin that lives in the Bay area came over and it was great catching up but I ended up losing my voice by the end of the night. Saturday was too busy to run, so I finally got my long run in on Sunday and it just didn't got well. I felt I had to get a long run in so I set out to do 10 but my body just was not feeling it and I ended up doing just 6.5. I've got the Davis Stampede half marathon next Sunday and I'm just not sure how I will do considering I only ran 3 days this week and no cross training. I will just have to readjust my time goal for the Stampede Half marathon. It's ok though, I've still got a bunch of half marathons on schedule to improve.

As to the weekend, Saturday was interesting because I lost my voice and the kiddos had their basketball games. It was so hard to not be able to cheer for them while they played.
Even more interesting was Hubby and I actually found a babysitter and set out to have our Valentine's date night in the evening. I felt fine to go but the only downside was that I couldn't talk. I could, but it was barely there. Poor Hubby, he was a great sport and we still had a good time. We met up with some of his friends first at an opening of a new brewery in Davis. This wasn't as fun for me because I couldn't talk with his friends with my voice gone. However, I did get a tasting of some good beer.
Dinner afterwards went well. We went to a cute Italian Restaurant Osteria Fasulo
They serve great quality Italian food. Everything we tried was pretty good. I just wish that the raviolli we had that had lobster in it, wish it was a bigger portion. Hubby and I were pretty happy with everything else. However with fancy food comes higher prices.
We made the most of our first night out without the kiddos in Davis.
Sunday I got to sleep in which was nice and I got my 6.5 mile run. I took it easy and went slower than usual. It was great just being out running again. It was sunny day and it even got hot towards the end of my run, that could be another reason why I wasn't feeling the run so much.
Afterwards, with more cousins from the Bay area coming to visit for dinner, we cleaned up the house, and I prepped some food. Dinner was good! It was great catching up and the kiddos had fun playing with their kids. It was a good time.
That sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
