Seattle Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon Training Week 8: 5/23-5/29

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Today is Memorial Day so for many the long weekend is not over, which explains why my post is later than usual. Hoping everyone took some time to think about what today's holiday is about and remember all those that have died while serving our country. As to training, last week was once again a good week of runs. I didn't get my long run in but made it up this morning. My only cross training was backpacking over the weekend. I'd say hauling a pack and hiking with substantial elevation  gain should count for something right? :)

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Seattle Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon Training Week 7: 5/16-5/22

This last week was great in terms of running, but not so great in terms of cross training. I slacked all week in the cross training department and was either too busy or when I could have done something just didn't feel like doing it. I'm really hoping this week will be better.

Bay to Breakers Race Recap 5/15/16

Bay To Breakers Race Recap 2016
Last Sunday I ran in my first Bay to Breakers 12K race with some friends and what an experience it was. From flying tortillas at the start to oompa loompas, nude guys, Hayes Hill and care bears, the run was fun and wacky! Just thinking back on that day makes me smile.

Seattle Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon Training Week 6: 5/9-5/15

Last week was another decent week of training runs. The highlight was the weekend. I had a great time with friends in San Francisco for Bay to Breakers. It was my first time away from the kids for a night and it was so much fun.

Two Wheel Gear Pannier Backpack Convertible Graphite Review

Two Wheel Gear Pannier Backpack Convertible Graphite Review
I received this product free of charge from Two Wheel Gear as coordinated by Outdoor PR in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I live in Davis and in Davis, biking is a popular mode of transportation. Everyone bikes. Well most everyone. You will even see the littlest tykes in bike trailers being pulled by their parents. A majority of the college students at UC Davis bike and even at my son's elementary school, many kids bike to school. So when I was given the opportunity to try out the Pannier Backpack Convertible -Graphite I couldn't pass it up. I was excited because I knew this would come in very handy.

Pony Express 5K with 6 Year Old Race Recap

Pony Express 5K Race Recap
Last Sunday, me and 6 year old ran the Pony Express 5K in Sacramento. 6 year old was really excited to run another 5K. He told me his goal was to get around the same time as his last race (Stride for Pride Aggie 5K). He was en route to doing so, but it being an Inaugural race, there were some problems that I will explain about later. However, overall another great race by my lil guy.

CORE Organic Fruit Beverages Review & #BeTrueToYourCORE Giveaway

Core Organic Fruit Beverages Review & #BeTrueToYourCore Giveaway
This post is sponsored by Core Organic in partnership with FitApproach. All opinons are my own.

I love to drink water. I rarely drink pop or juice just because I know there is so much sugar in one serving. But sometimes it is nice to drink something with some flavor especially when it is hot out and I've been doing some exercise. When I found out Core came out with an organic fruit infused beverage that is only 5 calories and less than a gram of sugar per serving, I was intrigued.

Seattle Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon Training Week 4: 4/25-5/1

Not sure what it was but last week seemed to go by really fast for me. It was another decent week of running. I did get in one day of some strength intervals so I'm happy with that. The 5K went will with 6 year old and I also got in a really good bike ride with the fam on Sunday.
