SKINS DNAmic Women's Superpose Compression Shorts Review & Giveaway

SKINS DNAmic Women's Superpose Compression Shorts Review & Giveaway
This post is sponsored by SKINS and Fit Approach. All opinions are my own.

I'm a fan of compression socks. I love them for recovery and wearing them occasionally on runs. I've never tried compression shorts or tights so I was intrigued when given the opportunity to try an item of the SKINS DNAmic line. I was given the choice to choose a piece and I actually had a hard time choosing since they've got cool looking capri tights, long tights, and shorts. I went with the shorts, only because it fits for this time of year. It's pretty hot in the summer where I live and I won't be wearing long tights or capris for a while. The shorts turned out to be a great choice.

Chicago Marathon Training Week 1: 6/20-6/26

Last week started my training for the Chicago Marathon. I still can't believe I am training for my first full marathon! I did finally decide on a training plan and I am going with the one I found on Runner'sConnect (their free 16 week basic marathon intermediate 1). It seems like a good plan and I like how it shows the paces you should be running, although I need to do a better job of running the easy pace. I just watched the videos on the site yesterday, and I clearly should be running easy even if it is hard for me to do so.

Rock'n'Roll Seattle Half Marathon Race Recap 6/18/16

Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Half Marathon Race Recap
Last Saturday I ran the Rock'n'Roll Seattle half marathon with MyTeam Triumph Puget Sound. It was an amazing experience! It was my second time running this race, I ran it a couple of years ago and you can read my recap of that race here. This year, they changed the course and I really liked the changes they made. I especially loved that the finish was downhill unlike the first time I ran the run. Running with great friends, awesome crowds, running for a great cause, and seeing awesome friends at the finish made this race a memorable one!

Shealor Lake Backpacking Trip

Shealor Lake Backpacking Trip Report
A couple of weekends ago we headed out to Shealor Lake which is south of Lake Tahoe, by Kirkwood, for a backpacking trip with friends. Our friends had not backpacked with their kids yet, so we were unsure how things would go. Hubby did some research and the hike in is about 1.5 miles so perfect for a first time family backpacking trip. It turned out to be a fun and awesome adventure for all.

Seattle Rock'N'Roll Half Marathon Training Week 11: 6/13-6/19

Last week was a decent week of running up to the Seattle Rock'n'Roll Half marathon. But what week! It was a busy one! It went by rather fast with basketball camp for the boys and I was pretty excited because of the trip to Seattle. I couldn't wait to see friends and run with MyTeam Triumph Puget Sound on Saturday.

Seattle Rock'N'Roll Half Marathon Training Week 10: 6/6-6/13

It was a decent week of training for Rock 'N' Roll Seattle coming up this weekend. I'm getting excited for the run and running with Team Triumph! If you missed my last post on why it won't be a goal race but a rewarding one, you can check it out here. This week I had to modify a bit with our backpacking trip over the weekend so I missed one of the shorter runs, but I did get in my long run which I felt was more important and I'm counting backpacking as my cross-training this week.

#RNRSEA and MyTeam Triumph Puget Sound - Running For Those That Can't

In my last post, I mentioned that I wouldn't be running the Rock 'n' Roll Seattle half marathon as a goal race. I had initially planned on it being a run for time and a shot at a PR, but when one of my best friends from high school reached out and asked if I wanted to be a part of MyTeam Triumph Puget Sound, an organization that one of our good friends, Tracy Hale started, I couldn't say no.

Seattle Rock'N'Roll Half Marathon Training Week 9: 5/30-6/5

It's been another great week of running! I think I got in the most miles in a week this week with 36.4 miles! It's only because I made up my long run on Monday and had another long run yesterday. I was definitely feeling some tired legs on yesterday's run. I can't believe Seattle Rock'n'Roll is less than two weeks away. It will not be a goal race for me and the reason why will be in an upcoming blog post. I'm excited for the run and can't wait to be back in my home town!

Snow Mountain Backpacking Trip with the Fam

Snow Mountain Backpacking Trip with the Fam
Last weekend was Memorial Day Weekend and each year we try to go on a hike or a camping trip (except last year, I did Boston's Run to Remember). We had thought about car camping but it seemed like all of the spots that we were hoping to check out were already reserved (yes, we were late in the game). We could have just gone to one of the campgrounds that didn't take reservations but that would have left lots of uncertainty, so Hubby figured backpacking was the way to go. Hubby decided on checking out Snow Mountain and it was a great choice. Thanks to Obama it is now a national monument so the land is protected similar to a National Park.
