Last Week's Workouts and Weekly Wrap 1/2-1/8

Last week ended up being an unplanned week of rest days. After a 5 mile run on Tuesday my right quad felt kinda funny so I figured it would be a good time to take a few days off from running. I had just finished the Runner's World run streak and I figured why not take a break. I think my body was telling me I needed it so that is just what I did. It was really nice to sleep in and I was able to get my 2016 year in Running Review blog post up. The kiddos were still on Christmas break so it was nice to not have to worry about getting a run in while they were out of school.

This is what the week looked like:

Monday 1/2 - Rest
Tuesday 1/3 - 5 mile run
Wednesday 1/4 - Rest
Thursday 1/5 - Rest
Friday 1/6 - Rest
Saturday 1/7 - Rest
Sunday 1/8 - 3 miles on the treadmill and some core work. I'm not a fan of treadmills but I was glad that I did not have to run in the crazy wet weather we were having. It was also great to catch up with my friend Elizabeth.
Best thing about the run yesterday was my leg felt fine and no weird pain while running.

As far as how the week went besides the two workouts, the week turned out to be a pretty wet one weather-wise so we didn't get outside as much we wanted. However, we still did a fair amount when we could find a break in the weather. The boys enjoyed running with friends.
My 7 year old loves his new Kano computer he got for Christmas, so there was lots of playing on that during the week.
Some b-ball was played.
We did get a nice walk at the Davis Arboretum on Thursday with friends.
We came across this cool tree that the kids enjoyed climbing on.
The boys got to try out their new rollerblades they got from Grandma for Christmas.
7 year old got the hang of it pretty quickly while 5 year old is still working on his balance at times, but both really enjoy it.
On Friday, we made it out with friends to the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Center and auto tour.
I had no idea that cattails had fuzz. The boys had a blast playing with the fuzz.
We did a short hike and saw lots of ducks, some egrets, geese, and a hawk.
That pretty much sums up the highlights of the week. Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
