CIM Marathon Training Week 9 & Weekly Wrap: 9/18-9/24

Another solid week of training for CIM! I got in all of my running workouts and even some cross training. I also started working again. I got a part time job at the local running store and so far so good. It's pretty awesome working at a store where I'm learning about running shoes and gear while also helping people! I'm busier but I'd say it's a good busy. :)

Here's a recap of what I did last week following Coach Dawn's plan:

Monday 9/18 -
Scheduled: 3-4 recovery pace
Actual: 4 miles recovery pace
Tuesday 9/19 -
Scheduled: 5 miles easy with 5 x strides after 2 miles
Actual: 5 miles easy with 5 strides after 2 miles
Wednesday 9/20 -
Scheduled: 1.5 miles easy, 4 miles 8:45-9, 1 mile easy
Actual: 1.5 miles easy, 4 miles @ 8:45-9, & 1 mile easy. My 4 mile paces were at (8:42, 8:44, 8:53, 8:39) so pretty much right on for a total of 6.8 miles (went a little over due to miscalculating the route). Overall I'm happy with the run! I also got in a good cross training workout with the girls on the courts (arms & core. Some leg exercises but modified them so I wasn't working them too hard).
Thursday 9/21 -
Scheduled: Rest
Actual: Rest
Friday 9/22 -
Scheduled: 4 miles easy
Actual: 4 miles easy and cross training workout (arms & core) with the girls on the courts.
Saturday 9/23 -
Scheduled: 16 miles easy, can push the pace last 1-2 miles if feeling good.
Actual: 14 miles easy and pushed the pace the last 2 miles (8:52 & 8:24).
Sunday 9/24 -
Scheduled: Rest
Actual: Rest

Some highlights of the week were I started my new part time job. I'm happy to be working at Fleet Feet Davis! Running club also started this week at the kid's school. I'm coordinating it and it is going really well so far. We have a great turnout and it's great seeing both boys running and having a good time!
The weekend was busy. I ran my 16 mile long run Saturday morning with my friend Elizabeth. I was so glad to have company on such a long run. She accompanied me for 12 miles while I ran the rest solo and even finished strong.
I worked on Saturday too for 3 hours before heading to 8 year old's soccer game. Always fun to watch.
Sunday was a relaxing day. Took the kids to the park to play and also had soccer practice.
And that pretty much sums up my week! I have Urban Cow half marathon coming up this weekend but I'm treating it as a training run. It should still be fun. Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
