Rock'n'Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon Training 10/31-11/6

I can't believe Rock'N'Roll Las Vegas is this upcoming weekend! I'm getting excited to run the Strip at night! :) Training this week went really well. Not only did I get my first sub 8 minute mile during training but I also ran my fastest 5K. The fam also got to hike this weekend. It has been a great week.

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 10/31 - Rest. Happy Halloween!
Tuesday 11/1 - 5 miles. Went for a 4 mile progression with splits (8:58,8:44,8:34,7:47) and 1 mile c/d. I really wanted that last mile sub 8 and was very happy that I got it.
Wednesday 11/2 - Early morning 10K with friends. The 10K run was also my virtual run for Represent Running's Eastbay10K race that I missed on October 9th. I missed it since it was the same day as the Chicago Marathon. Luckily I was able to run it remote and I received the medal and shirt in the mail. The medal is huge and the shirt is really nice! It has been great being an ambassador for Represent Running.
Thursday 11/3 - 3 mile run and strength/core training workout
Friday 11/4 - Rest day
Saturday 11/5 - 5 mile hike with the fam and then a 3 mile run.
It was pretty cool because my 3 mile run turned into my fastest 5K! I think having to rush home to make dinner helped me run faster! :)
Sunday 11/6 - 11 mile long run with a friend.
The weekend was good. 7 year old had his last soccer game Friday night. He played well but unfortunately the teams they played were really good and they lost the games they played.
On Saturday since there were no soccer games and our day was actually free, we headed out for a hike. We went to Stebbins Cold Canyon for a 5 mile hike and it was so nice to be on the trails again with the fam. It turned out to be an awesome hike. Look out for the trip report on the blog hopefully later this week!
Sunday started with my long run, 11 miles with a friend. Always so nice to run with someone for a long run.
The rest of the day was spent relaxing. We did take the kiddos to the park where they had fun playing baseball and of course we played a little PokemonGo as well.
That pretty much sums up my week. Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
