SumoGrip Lace Locks Review and Giveaway

I usually don't have a problem with my shoelaces because I double knot them but when I was given the opportunity to try out a pair of SUMOgrip lace locks free of charge for my honest review, I gave them a try. All opinions are my own.

5 Ways to Overcome Unhealthy Temptations or Cravings

It's Tuesday and I am linking up with hosts Jessica Joy and Jill Conyers for their The Fit Dish Link-Up every Tuesday.
Today's topic is "How do you overcome unhealthy temptations or cravings?" What a great question as I sometimes still have problems with this. It will be great to read what others will be posting on this topic. Thinking about what to write for this question also reminded me a lot about the post I wrote back in October, Halloween Candy Craving Crushers. I am going to incorporate some of the reasons I gave on how to tame the sweet tooth for this post as I think they can apply here as well.

TBT Hiking Post - Olympic Peninsula Day 1: Hurricane Ridge & Rialto Beach

Happy Thursday! Today's throwback Thursday post takes us back to our trip to the Olympic Peninsula. We decided to head out there for our wedding Anniversary as a getaway and nice little adventure. Here are pics from day 1 of our trip.

Olympic Peninsula - Hurricane Ridge and Rialto Beach 8/23/09

To get to the Olympic Peninsula we had to take the ferry. We took the Edmonds-Kingston ferry. It was our son's first time on the ferry and he enjoyed it. Here's a great shot I took of him with Hubby.

Fun on the Ice on Frozen Lake Carnegie

It's not often that nearby Lake Carnegie in Princeton is frozen enough for people to ice skate or play on. The recent run of cold weather made for 5+ inches thick of ice on the lake, making it safe for us to play. You know the ice is safe when the white flags are flying from the poles at the boathouse near Washington Road and at the Harrison Street Bridge. When the flag is red, you know the ice is not safe. We took advantage of the safe ice and went yesterday.

TBT Hiking Post - Rattlesnake Ledge

It's Thursday, that means another Throwback Thursday hike. Today's hike is our hike to Rattlesnake ledge. We did go on this hike last June and you can read the post here

If you remember from my last TBT Hiking post, you saw me pregnant at about 34 weeks. Now baby number 1 is out and he is about 2 and a 1/2 months old. :) Here are some pics from the hike.

Rattlesnake Ledge 8/15/09

Here I am with my little 2.5 month old. I remember him being very curious and he liked to look around. I think he liked looking at all the tall trees.

My Vision Board

It's Tuesday and I am linking up with hosts Jessica Joy and Jill Conyers for their The Fit Dish Link-Up every Tuesday.
Today's topic is to create a Vision Board to keep you motivated. When I saw the topic, I thought what is a vision board? I had never heard of it before. It must have to do with your goals and visions for the future? I was sort of on the right track. After a quick Google search, I found that a vision board is:

TBT Hiking Post - St. Edward's State Park

Happy Thursday! That means another Throwback Thursday hiking post! Today's post brings us back to a hike when I was pregnant with my first son. I wasn't active during my pregnancy (looking back I wish I were) but I did take walks mostly during my lunch break. We had just gotten a new SLR camera and wanted to take some pics so we went to St. Edward's State Park for a short hike.

St. Edward's State Park 4/5/09
St. Edward's Park in Kenmore, WA is a great park for hiking, picnics, softball, and even mountain biking. There are a bunch of mountain biking trails although I have never explored them, it is a popular place to go. What I liked about the park was that it was 5 minutes from where I used to live. The park does require a Discover Pass now.

Boson Sport Jump Rope Review and Cardio/Strength Training Workout

I was provided the opportunity to receive this product without charge in exchange for my honest review. I was excited when I received the Boson Sport Jump Rope because I remember how much I enjoyed jumping rope when I was younger.

My Favorite Motivational Quotes

It's Tuesday and I am linking up with hosts Jessica Joy and Jill Conyers for their The Fit Dish Link-Up every Tuesday.

Today's topic is "What would your imaginary trainer say to motivate you?" I have not ever really had a trainer. I did get a free trial at the gym when I joined but it was only for a few sessions and I can't remember the types of things he said to me to get me going. I did not seem to need much motivation when I joined the gym because I was already so motivated to lose my pregnancy weight. I knew what I had to do and already had a plan laid out. So pretty much whatever the trainer told me, I did without any complaints. :p

2014 Year in Hiking Review

This is a little late but since I did a year in review for running I figured I should do one for hiking. It's been a great year of hiking with the fam. Me and Hubby are big fans of hiking as you have seen from previous posts. We both want our kids to enjoy the outdoors as much as we do, so we hike whenever we can and if the weather allows. We started hitting the trails early with both kiddos. Both were babies when they first ventured out. Now that the boys are a bit bigger, only one needs to be carried in our awesome Deuter kid carrier at times. Our 5 year old is awesome and walks the trail all on his own. However our 3 year old can be a bit lazy at times. He has improved a lot on walking more since the year started and hope that 2015 will be the year we can ditch the kid carrier.

36 Days of Awesome My #RWRunStreak Experience

I did it! I completed the Runner's World Run Streak! I ran at least a mile each day from Thanksgiving to New Year's and I am very proud of myself. I have never done anything like this before and wasn't sure if I would actually be able to keep it up.
