Five Movies Scenes That Inspire Fitness

It's Tuesday and I am linking up with hosts Jessica Joy and Jill Conyers for their The Fit Dish Link-Up every Tuesday.
Today's topic is "Movies Scenes That Inspire Your Fitness". What are some movie scenes that have inspired me? Which scenes made me want to get up and run or exercise? Which made me want to get strong and fit? This was a fun topic as it brought me back to reminisce on some great movies.

Here are my top five movie scenes that have inspired my fitness:

Rocky - Can't go wrong with this scene. It is so inspiring as he runs through the streets of Philly and finishes at the Museum of Art steps. Whenever we go to Philly the kiddos and Hubby (oh wait and me too) love to re-enact running up the steps and pretending to be Rocky. Oh and him doing those one handed push-ups, amazing!
Million Dollar Baby - The training scenes are inspiring (the ending not so much) and it is great to see how much she improves from not knowing how to box in the beginning to boxing really well.
Forrest Gump - I love this movie on so many levels, but this running scene was pretty inspiring. I mean come on, Forrest Gump ran for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days and 16 hours. :)
Hunger Games - This movie inspires me to get fit and be strong. It's pretty tough to watch contestants of the Hunger Games fighting in a made up arena until only one is supposed to remain. Their training and fighting scenes definitely inspire me to want to be strong and fit. This movie definitely made me think about self-defense and survival.
Mulan -  Loved this movie especially because I think it was the first Disney movie where the girl was a fighter and the hero. Mulan is fit and strong. She is also very brave. I loved how she trained and did not give up. It is one of those movies that proves that you can achieve your goal if you keep at it.
Those are my top five. What are some movie scenes that inspire you?

  9. Great list! I love that scene from Mulan - it definitely motivates me to keep on going through my training, even when it's hard.

One scene that always inspires me is from the bicycle movie, Breaking Away. Whenever I feel like giving up on a run or during a race, I think of the scene from the movie when Dave tapes his feet to his bike pedals to force himself to keep going until he crosses the finish line. It's a really powerful reminder to stay strong and push beyond your limits. =)
