TBT Hiking Post - Mt. Finlayson and Cattle Point Lighthouse

It's Thursday, that means a new throwback Thursday hiking post. Today's post is from a trip we took to the San Juan Islands. Hubby had won a free stay at Roche Harbor from doing a Men's NCAA bracket. It was an awesome score as we stayed two nights in a pretty neat house. We got to explore the island and managed to go on a hike. The hike we went on was Mt. Finlayson and Cattle Point Lighthouse. I enjoy seeing lighthouses and I remember the hike down was beautiful.

Mt. Finlayson and Cattle Point Lighthouse - 2/20/10

Mt. Finlayson is the highest point on San Juan's south end.
I don't recall hiking the whole trail but we did get to the high point. Here is the geological marker.
It was a perfect day for hiking with our 8 month old at the time.
He was pretty happy in the kid carrier. :)
The views were amazing! I remember just taking it all in and hanging out in the grass for a while.
Our goal was to get down to the lighthouse.

Overall a great hike! The views were amazing with the Olympic Mountains in the background and just being along the cliffside, it was awesome! It's not a difficult hike either, I definitely recommend it for those visiting the San Juan Islands and Roche Harbor.
