My Answers to a Fun Running Survey

Happy Friday! I saw this fun running survey on Sue's Blog This Mama Runs for Cupcakes and thought I'd share my answers with you. There are some good running related questions and you can learn a little more about me and my preferences. :) Have a great weekend!

1. Would you rather run along a beach path or on a mountain trail?
Definitely a mountain trail. I'm all for a mountain trail because I know that when you go up there are usually some awesome views at the top. Either way it's a great workout!

2. If you could choose the flavor of gatorade at your next race’s aid stations, what would it be? 
Not really a fan of Gatorade. I would rather have Nuun and my favorite flavors are strawberry lemonade and watermelon.

3. If I gave you a $100 gift card to a running store, what would be the first thing that you would purchase with it?
I would get some new running shoes, because I could always use another pair. My go to shoes are Brooks Pure Flows.
4.  Do you prefer to follow a training plan or wake up and decide then how far and how fast you want to run?
I prefer to follow a training plan when training. The plan keeps me in check and it's nice to know how many miles I need to run each day.

5.  Would you rather start your run with the uphill and end on the downhill or start your run with the downhill and end with the uphill?
I would rather start my run with an uphill and end on the downhill. I like doing the harder stuff at the beginning and a downhill makes for a nice sprint to the finish.

6.  When you can’t run, what type of cross-training do you choose to do?
I like to do the workout DVDs I have at home (T25, PiYo, and BOSU workouts). I also love to hike whenever possible.

7.  What is your preference—>  Out and back, point to point or loop runs?
I'm ok with the others, but I like loop runs the best, only because you start and end at the same place but see new scenery all along the route.
8.  If you could recommend ANY running related item to a new runner, it would be a—?

Flipbelt. I love that I can carry my keys and phone and other stuff without any jiggling.
9.  Do you ever see any wild animals while out on your runs?
When I was in NJ I saw deer a lot and a couple of times even saw some turtles but in Cali, I haven't seen anything interesting yet.
10.  Ever gotten lost while out on a run?
Nope, haven't gotten lost. 

11.  If you could have one meal waiting and ready for you each time you got home from a run for the next 30 days… what would that meal be?
Pancakes and eggs for breakfast, if were lunchtime I'd say sushi.

12.  Capris or shorts… what do you run in most often?
Mostly shorts or running skirts but capris in the winter.
13.  At what mile (or how many minutes) into your run does your body start to feel like it is warming up and ready to go?
At about 1.5-2 miles I feel warmed up. It's usually when I need to shed my layers.

14.  What do you do with your key when you run?
I put it in my Flipbelt. See #8.

15.  If you could relive any race that you have done in the past, which one what it be?
Probably Seattle Half Marathon with Hubby or Nike Women's Half in San Francisco with friends. Both were great runs!
