Asbury Park Half Marathon Training Week 2: 3/23-3/29

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 3/23 - T25 Beta Rip't Circuit
Tuesday 3/24 - 5 birthday miles.
Wednesday 3/25 - 4 miles.
Thursday 3/26 -3 mile run.
Friday 3/27 - Rest day
Saturday 3/28 - 5 mile run.
Sunday 3/29 - 10 mile long run.
Had an ok week training-wise for the Asbury Park Half marathon coming up on April 18th. I could have used a PiYo day on Friday but after checking out the Grand Opening of the new REI in Princeton I got a bad headache and just decided to give it a rest. Even Saturday morning when I did my 5 mile run, I still felt a little under the weather but I think the run helped.

As to the rest of the weekend after my run on Saturday we went out for Brunch to a new place, the Turning point. I got the Eggs Benedict and it was delicious. Hubby got the Lobster Eggs Benedict and I got to try it as well and it was really good too! Definitely a place I recommend!
After brunch, we took the kiddos to the Garden State Discovery museum where they had a blast! We've been there lots and it is always a great time. I'm so glad that our library system has the free museum pass program so we can go for free. It's pretty awesome!
On Sunday after my 10 mile long run and after lunch, we decided to hit the trails and take advantage of the sunny day. It was cold out but not as cold as last week and the snow was pretty much gone. We headed out to the Institute Woods Trails which was less than 10 minutes from our place. Another close set of trails that we had never ventured to. The kiddos had a good time and my favorite part of the hike was this bridge we came across. Trip report of the hike will be on the blog soon!

  6. Happy Birthday last week! YOu sound like me, I like to run on my birthday too:) Great mileage last week! I am loving that bridge picture! So awesome you're hitting up so many trails right near your home! I am actually going to do a little of that tomorrow morning, there is a canyon about 15 minute drive from my home and I haven't been there since I was like 5, so I told me dad he was going to go hiking with me in the morning, LOL
