Half Marathon Training Week 12 up to the NYC Half 3/9-3/15

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 3/9 - T25 Beta Rip't Circuit
Tuesday 3/10 - 4 mile run.
Wednesday 3/11 - 30 minute run.
Thursday 3/12 - 3 mile run with my sister.
Friday 3/13 - Rest day
Saturday 3/14 - Rest day
Sunday 3/15 - NYC Half Marathon

A decent week of workouts before I ran the half marathon. I pretty much followed Hal Higdon's Intermediate training plan for the week until Thursday where I ran an extra mile with my sister. We were going at a very comfortable pace so I figured I would do another mile with her. It's so nice to have my sister in town! We always have good runs together even though she is a lot faster than me on race day. ;)

My weekend started early as on Friday Hubby was gracious enough to take the kiddos while I got to spend the day in NYC City with the girls. We went to the Expo to pick up our bibs then went out to lunch at a yummy Korean restaurant.
We then ventured out to see places like the FlatIron building and the High Line. We also got some bubble tea and then went out to dinner at the Cull and Pistol Bar at Chelsea Market where I tried some yummy fried oysters and a delicious lobster roll. It was a pretty awesome day and I was so happy to spend it with good friends! Thanks again Min and Dana for a fun day!
On Saturday we took the fam into the City. It was a rainy day but still had fun. We had Dim Sum in Chinatown for lunch then ventured to the Metropolitan Museum of Art where we, including the kiddos enjoyed exploring the museum.
For dinner we happened to come across Thai @ Lex. I wanted some noodles for dinner before the race so I chose Pad See-Ew. It was pretty good.
Sunday was race day and what an awesome race. Race recap coming sometime this week!
After the race, since our car was by our hotel (Courtyard Marriot in Jersey City which I recommend if you want a cheaper option that is close to NYC. Especially because the Path Station is right by the hotel which makes for easy transportation into the City) we took the kids to Liberty State Park which has an awesome view of the City and a neat back side view of the Statue of Liberty. My sis and I had fun taking pics there too! :)
