American River Parkway Half Marathon Training Week 7: 2/20-2/26

Week 7 of half marathon training went really well! I got in all my workouts in and pretty much hit all my paces in the schedule. Unfortunately Hubby started to feel crummy again on Wednesday so no new outdoor adventures for a while until he is better. However, I am fortunate to to still have running as my "me" time during such a busy week.

My first race of 2017 was the Davis Stampede 10K. I had done the race last year, but I remember being sick and was unable to really race it. This year, I again didn't actually "race" it since I didn't go all out but it was a good scheduled training run. Coach Dawn set the paces and I pretty much followed them. It was also a fun run because I got to run with my running buddy Elizabeth

Another decent week of training for the American River Parkway Half marathon is in the books. I got in all my running workouts but missed a cross training day due to my son's 6th birthday. It was also a busy weekend with his birthday party and both boys basketball games.

American River Parkway Half Marathon Training Week 5: 2/6-2/12

Week 5 of training went really well! I ran my first race on Sunday as a training run and was very happy with how it went. I got in my cross training workouts along with all the scheduled runs so I'm happy. The only bummer of the week was Hubby getting sick, which ruined our plans for any outdoor adventures over the weekend.

Week 4 of training has been good! I was worried at one point since I missed a workout due to a sick kiddo but thankfully I made it up the next day. I'm happy I hit my paces and also got in two days of cross-training.

American River Parkway Half Marathon Training Week 3: 1/23-1/29

Week 3 of half marathon training has been good! If you missed my 2017 Running Race Schedule post, I mentioned that my goal half marathon race was cancelled (Pony express Half) but luckily I found a backup race that was the same weekend, the American River Parkway half marathon. I'm on track for training for that and still hoping to PR! I'm happy I got all my workouts in this week and met all of my scheduled paces!

Pony Express Half Marathon Training Week 2: 1/16-1/22

Week two of half marathon training went pretty good. I missed Monday's workout due to heading to Tahoe to snowboard but going to the mountain that day was definitely worth it! I got in the rest of my training workouts with no problems so I'm pretty happy with the week. However, since I missed my 3 mile run on Monday, I was unable to complete my goal of 80k for the lululemon 40|80 Strava challenge. I was 3K off and was tempted to run with 7 year old to get the last 2 miles but the weather deterred us. At least I got the 40K done!
