American River Parkway Half Marathon Training Week 15: 4/17-4/23

Week 15 of training for the American River Parkway Half Marathon is in the books and went well! I did all my running workouts and felt good about them so I am happy about that. I can't believe that the half marathon is this weekend! I am excited and a bit nervous. I just need to trust my training and hope that race day goes well!

American River Parkway Half Marathon Training Week 14: 4/10-4/16

Week 14 is peak week of training according to my coach and it went great! Got in all my running workouts in and did fairly well. I pretty much hit all my paces except for the speed workout on Tuesday. I am trying my best and that's what matters. Less than two weeks before my goal half marathon!

Trail Running at Runyon Canyon

Trail Running at Runyon Canyon
While in the Los Angeles area during the kiddos Spring Break, me and my sister wanted to get a run in and we didn't feel the streets around our hotel were very safe especially if we went early in the morning. I turned to the Rungo App for some route suggestions and found that Runyon Canyon wasn't far from where we were at. I did a little research on the place online and read good things, so we decided to check it out. We definitely weren't disappointed. The views we got were amazing!

American River Parkway Half Marathon Training Week 13: 4/3-4/9

Another good week of training is in the books. After being a bit upset in my first speed workout on Tuesday, the second speed workout went great! My long run was so so. Even with the not so great long run I think I'm getting faster even if I don't always hit the paces. Last week I did get around to writing up my Rock'n'Roll San Francisco race recap and you can check it out here. Overall a nice week and even got in a hike with the fam, so all is good!

This year was my second year running Rock'n'Roll San Francisco's half marathon. You can check out last year's recap here. It was a blast then and this year was even better! Not only did it land on my birthday weekend but I also got my sister to come out from Oregon and my friend Lenora to run it as well!

American River Parkway Half Marathon Training Week 12: 3/27-4/2

 
It was a great week of running! Got to hang out with my sister most of the week and participated in my first mud run on Sunday. The mud run was so much fun! I'm pretty happy with the runs this week even with having to cut one of the runs short due to traveling and being in L.A for spring break. Even got a hike in with the fam on Saturday so it was busy productive week. :)

Another great week of training for the American River Parkway half marathon next month! I got in all my workouts and this week was even better because this weekend was my birthday and also the Rock'n'Roll San Francisco Half marathon. My sister came down to run it and my friend Lenora also joined in the fun.

It was great to get out hiking with the fam. Having been busy with basketball and Hubby finally better from being sick, we finally had a free weekend to hike. It was even better because we went with some friends. The hike we decided on was the Falls Trail loop hike at Mt. Diablo. I had no idea there were waterfalls there so we thought it would be great to check out especially with the rain that we've been having in Northern California.

American River Parkway Half Marathon Training Week 10: 3/13-3/19

Another good week of training done! Seemed like an easier week with only one speed workout but I did get in 14 miles on Sunday making it 34 miles for the week. I got to relax some this weekend with Hubby and the kiddos watching some of the March Madness basketball games in Sacramento. Overall a good week!
