Chicago Marathon Training Week 11: 8/29-9/4

Another good week of training done! I got in all of my scheduled runs but did make a few modifications. I ran my first 20 miler Sunday and even went on a hike to some beautiful lakes with the fam that put my mileage for Sunday over a full marathon. Crazy yes, but it was well worth it! :)

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 8/29 -
Scheduled: Off or cross training
Actual: Off
Tuesday 8/30 -
Scheduled: 1 mile w/up, 8x1000 meters @ 8:11-8:16 pace w/ 30 sec. rest, 1 mile c/d
Actual: 1 mile w/u, 8x1000m (my paces at 8:10, 8:07, 8:00, 8:05, 8:07, 8:14, 8:16, 8:11), 1 mile c/d. Pretty happy I hit the paces.
Wednesday 8/31 -
Scheduled: 6 miles easy
Actual: 6 miles easy with friends.

I reached 153 miles for the month of August. It's the most I've ever run in a month.
Thursday 9/1 -
Scheduled: 1 mile w/u, 2x3 miles @ 8:35-8:44 w/ 3 min rest, 1 mile c/d
Actual: 1 mile w/u, 1x3 miles @ (8:23, 8:16, 8:05), 1 mile c/d. I started out later in the morning and it was already getting warm so I stuck with just 3 miles at the faster pace.
Friday 9/2 -
Scheduled: Off or cross training
Actual: Off
Saturday 9/3 -
Scheduled: 8 miles easy
Actual: 8 miles easy with friends.
Sunday 9/4 -
Scheduled: 20 mile long run with miles 12-16 @ 8:51-8:57 pace
Actual: 20 miles easy. I couldn't remember the miles that I needed to do the faster pace while running so I just took it easy. I made this run all about running the distance.

As to the weekend, Saturday morning started out with an 8 mile run with friends. Running with friends always makes the miles fly by. It was a great run.
Afterwards, I went on a fun bike ride around town with the fam. We rode to the library, had lunch, and went to a couple of playgrounds. We did about 9 miles total.
After our fun bike ride around town, we relaxed a bit before heading to Hubby's coworker's get together at her house.

Sunday, started out with my 20 miler. I did it! My longest run ever for me and it felt pretty good up to the last mile and a half when I felt my legs getting pretty tired. I'm happy with how it went overall.
After cleaning up and putting on some compression socks, we headed off to hike Loch Leven Lakes in Tahoe National Forest. It was definitely worth hiking after running, the lakes were beautiful!!!
I'm hoping to have this trip report up once I get caught up (2 from Seattle coming soon)!
That pretty much sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
