Brooklyn RnR Half Marathon Training Week 2 & Weekend Update 7/20-7/26

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 7/20 - Rest
Tuesday 7/21 - 4 mile run
Wednesday 7/22 - 5 mile run
Thursday 7/23 - Running rest day. Tried out the Deskcyle for the first time and enjoyed biking for 30 minutes while watching tv. Look out for the review in a future post.
Friday 7/24 - 5 mile run
Saturday 7/25 - Rest
Sunday 7/26 - 8.6 mile long run with a friend.
Week two of half marathon training went fine. I got in all my running workouts and was almost spot on with the required paces. I could have used a bit more cross training but just did not get any T25 in this week. I haven't done any PiYo in a while and would like to get back into doing that at least once a week too. We'll see how that goes. Here is what my run schedule looks like for this week:
On to the weekend, on Saturday we headed to the beach for the day. We headed back to Island Beach State Park since we had so much fun the last time we were there. It was a beautiful day to hang out at the Jersey Shore. Of course everyone had the same idea as there were lots of people already there at 9:30am.
Again, the kiddos had a blast playing in the sand and splashing around in the ocean.
Hubby and I were happy that everyone had a great time.
After spending some time on the beach, we ventured out to find a couple of geocaches. They were fun finds! Many of you have been interested in geocaching and I hope to have my blog post up about it this week.
On Sunday, my morning started out with an 8.6 mile long run with a friend. It was fun trying out a somewhat new route as we looped to a different section that connected to a familiar trail.
It was also fun taking mid-run selfies. :p
The rest of the day was spent doing some errands. Made some stops at Home Depot and Costco and then relaxed a bit. I even got in an afternoon nap. :)

This should be an interesting week since we are traveling Tuesday to visit Davis, CA for a potential job opportunity for Hubby. We're excited! We'll be there most of the week so a lot of my runs will be in California and it will be a definite change of scenery. Hope you all have a great week! Linking this post up with Tara at Running N’ Reading for her Weekend Update.
