Last Week's Workouts and Weekend Update 6/29-7/5

Today's post is coming in later than usual because we just got back from camping at Ricketts Glen in Benton, PA! There was no cell service at our campsite nor on the hiking trail which explains the late post. I did get a couple of posts in on Instagram on Sunday because we went down the hill to get some fire wood and in that area was cell service. It was actually nice being off the grid for a little while, but then again it's nice to have it back. :)

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 6/29 - Rest
Tuesday 6/30 - 6 mile run
Wednesday 7/1 - 1 mile run and T25
Thursday 7/2 - 4 mile run
Friday 7/3 - 2 mile run
Saturday 7/4 - 6 mile run
Sunday 7/5 - 3.2 mile hike with the fam
I'd say this was an ok week of runs and workouts. I did sign up for another race in the fall and it will be a fun one. I can't wait. I'll be running the Beat The Blerch Half Marathon in Morristown, NJ on September 26th. If you have heard of the Oatmeal and know of Mathew Inman's comics it should be interesting. The site says there will be cupcakes, nutella, and a magical grape beverage at every aid station! :) This is going to be so much fun and a bunch of ladies from my MRTT group will be running as well.

As to the weekend, Saturday morning started out with a 6 miler before we headed out to Rickett's Glen State Park to go camping.
The drive from Princeton is about 3 hours. We left after lunch and got there around 4pm. Hubby set up camp while the kiddos and I explored. We got a pretty cool site that was by the lake, well a dried up lake. Here's my 4 year old on the dried up lake. We found lots of snails and even spotted a lizard or salamander.
Our campsite.
It was pretty cool because we met up with some friends there and the kiddos had a blast playing with their friend.
We had the usual campfire and S'mores. Camping isn't complete without them in our family!
On Sunday, we hiked the Falls Trail in the park. It's an amazing hike with 21 waterfalls on the trail. I'll have a blog post up soon!
It was another night of hanging out with friends, s'mores and a campfire. Such a great time!

That sums up the weekend! Linking this post up with Tara at Running N’ Reading for her Weekend Update.

I haven't had a S'more in so long, that needs to change before summer ends:). You had some gorgeous running scenery, and I bet all of those waterfalls were amazing! Cute picture of your kids and you doing T25 haha they look like they love it!

  2. The camping looks fun! The dried up lake makes me sad, though. I would definitely like the hike with the waterfalls. Beat the Blerch should be a blast!

  4. Thanks Hailey!! Yes, the Falls trail was pretty amazing! 21 waterfalls all along the trail, so after one, you come across another. It's the best! As to T25 the kiddos do enjoy following along at times! :) Have a great week!

  5. Thanks! Oh no worries on the lake, it's a man made lake and they are doing something with it (restructuring and something with the dam nearby) but I believe they will fill it back up and it will be back to normal in the future. Yes, can't wait for Beat the Blerch! :)
