Brooklyn RnR Half Marathon Training Week 12 & Weekly Wrap 9/28-10/4

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 9/28 - BOSU core workout.
Tuesday 9/29 - 5 miles with friends.
Wednesday 9/30 - Did some speed work. 10x400s including warm up and cool down.
Thursday 10/2 - Traveled to CA and almost did not run but got it done at the hotel later in the evening. 3 miles on the treadmill. It had been a very long while since I've ran on the treadmill so it was actually really tough to keep going.
Friday 10/2 - Rest
Saturday 10/3 - 11 mile long run with new running friends. Got to meet @albidress part of #earthathon on Twitter! She is awesome! She invited me out to run with her running group (Fleet Feet) in Vacaville which is about 20 minutes from Davis. Such a great run and great group! I'm pretty excited to already know some runners in the area before I actually move!
Sunday 10/4 - Rest. Fly back to NJ.

Had a decent week of running this week! Not much cross training except I did include BOSU exerercises each day! Such an awesome piece of equipment. It's the last week of the #BOSUStrong challenge and to win a BOSU. If you missed my post yesterday you can check out this week's prompts here.

I can't believe RnR Brooklyn is coming up this Saturday!! My goal for this run is to run it under 2 hours. I would love to get under 1:55 but if that doesn't happen I'd still be ok. There are lots more races for me to try for a PR. I'm pretty excited to run in Brooklyn and just take in a new race.
As to our trip, we arrived in Davis on Thursday and the main goal of this trip was to lock in a place for our move next month. Seems that rentals are hard to come by this time of year so we had slim pickings. Leases go by the UC Davis school year so many places had already been rented. We did manage to find an apartment, and signed the contract which eased our minds because our fear was to not find anything and be homeless when we arrived next month. However while we were there, we also met with our real estate agent to look at homes, because why not right? Turns out we found the ONE. Well we feel like it is the one because it has everything we want in a home, it is close to parks, bike trail access, and just seems right. It seems like it would be the perfect place for us. I really hope the stars align for us on this one!
On our last visit in July I ran on the arboretum trail in Davis and loved it. I remember how I really liked the part where there were some Redwood trees. It's a very close walk from the hotel we were staying at so I had to take the fam to see that part of the trail on this trip. It is such a beautiful trail!
I really love that Davis has so many parks and bike trails. We had fun checking out the neighborhoods and many of the parks and playgrounds.
That sums up my week. Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
