The Scrubba Wash Bag Review & Giveaway

Scrubba Wash Bag Review & Giveaway
I was provided the opportunity to receive this product without charge in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

When Eartheasy contacted me about checking out the Scrubba Wash Bag or the "lightest washing machine" in the world as dubbed by Shark Tank Australia, I was intrigued. I liked the idea of cleaning clothes anywhere, easy, free (well after buying a Scrubba) and fast. I enjoy checking out new things and figure this would be something neat to test out. Having a portable washing machine for traveling, camping, and backpacking would be pretty awesome.

The Scrubba is light weight. It weighs less than 5oz and as you can see easily packable which makes it great for backpacking trips and traveling.

This is what the Scrubba looks like when it is layed out. It reminds me of a stuff sac for camping. Even cooler is it is waterproof! So if you have kayaking trips or beach trips and need to keep things dry, it can be used for keeping items from getting wet.

However the main difference with this bag is that it has an ultra-flexible washboard. It's a modern take of the old fashioned washboard, where internal nodules help efficiently clean your clothes in minutes. It is the key component on why the Scrubba works so well. Here's a closer looks at the nodules.

So to test it out, I took some of my stinky running clothes.
Great thing about the Scrubba is that the instructions are right on the bag. There are 6 easy steps.
Scrubba Wash Bag Instructions
Step 1: is to fill the bag. Add water, soap, and clothes. It's nice because the bag even has lines on how much water you should add. Depending on the amount of clothes, you use 0.5-1.5 gallons per load.
Step 2: Roll and clip.
Step 3: Deflate. You need to open the valve and squeeze out the air from the bag.
Step 4: Rub the bag. I rubbed it for 3 minutes to get a machine quality wash.
Step 5: Rinse. Unclip the bag and pour out the water. Then add fresh water and move it around for a bit.
Step 6: Dry the clothes. I wrung them out after taking them out of the bag to remove excess water and then hung them on the drying rack since I was at home. You can hang dry clothes on a clothesline, pat dry with a towel, or get creative (hang on a bed post, over a chair, on a hanger, in a tree)!
And that's all. Easy peasy. I checked the clothes the next day and they smelled clean. I'm impressed. It's a unique concept and I really like that it cleans clothes in a easy way. This would be great for all of those items that require hand wash and you don't want to scrub them to get clean. No need to fill the sink to clean your clothes. It is really nice because it saves water.

I can see myself using this for traveling. This would have been a great thing to have when Hubby and I went to Italy for 3 weeks. We could have packed lighter and saved time and money with not having to look for and use a laundromat.

It would also be great for future backpacking and camping trips. It will help to clean our dirty clothes and it will help in packing lighter. The use of it as a waterproof stuff sac helps too!
One other way I will use it is for my running clothes. It's an easy way to wash them when I want to do something fast and I don't have enough clothes for a large wash in the machine. Running clothes, especially shirts are light and dry wicking so will dry fast. They will probably last longer too!
One other great thing about the Scrubba is that a portion of the proceeds goes towards providing clean drinking water to areas of the world that need it. Thanks to Eartheasy, I will also be giving away a Scrubba Wash Bag to one lucky reader! To win, enter the giveaway in the rafflecopter below.
