Rock and Roll San Francisco Half Marathon Training 3/28-4/3

It was a decent week of running up to the Rock and Roll San Francisco Half Marathon. I didn't do any cross training but with the race this week I took it easy.

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 3/28 - 2 miles walking. My parents were visiting and wanted to go for a walk so we set out for 2 miles while 5 year old biked.
Tuesday 3/29 - 4 mile run.
Wednesday 3/30 - 30 minute tempo run.
Thursday 3/31 - 2 mile run.
Friday 4/1 - Rest day.
Saturday 4/2 - Rest day.
Sunday 4/3 - Rock and Roll San Francisco Half marathon! I did better than I expected considering the hills. More about the race will be in my recap coming later this week! :)
I am happy that I did get over 100 miles for the month of March. A major improvement over February.
The weekend was great! On Saturday, we went to a friend's one year old's birthday party in the Bay area. It was a good time and they had some yummy cake and cupcakes.
After the party, we headed to the expo for Rock and Roll San Francisco. It was fun checking out the booths and meeting up with some Twitter friends, Ross @ross_707 and Laura @albidress.
Then we did a little site seeing. We went to Lombard street and visited Coit Tower where the views were awesome, before heading to dinner and then to the hotel.
Sunday was of course the race. The weather was perfect running weather, a bit cloudy so unfortunately part of the Golden Gate Bridge was in the fog, but it was still very cool to run on the bridge. Again, more to come in my race recap that will be coming later this week.
After the race, the fam went and got Dim sum for lunch and then we walked down towards Pier 39 and the Fisherman's wharf. Before getting down to the water, we came across this cool playground (Joe Dimaggio playground) where the kids played for a while.
Pier 39 and Fishmerman's Wharf was fun. We walked around and browsed the shops. It was really fun watching the sea lions too!
Great views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate bridge at Pier 39.
On our way back, we were going to take a trolley but the line was really long so we ended up walking back up to the the car. The trolley's look fun but we'll do that next time we head to San Francisco. It will be a fun thing to do when the kiddos cousins come in July!
That sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Don't forget to check out my post on the new HDL Convertible here. It's an exciting new product for runners. Their kickstarter campaign starts today.

Have a great week!
