Seattle Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon Training Week 3: 4/18-4/4/24

Another good week of running! In my last weekly wrap I was hoping to do more cross training, but that did not happen this week. I did get in the hike on Saturday and some nights I've been playing a little basketball with Hubby so I guess that is a little something extra. Hopefully this week, I will get in a bit more organized cross training. I would really like to get in some strength training.

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 4/18 - 1.2 mile jog/walk with 5 year old.
Tuesday 4/19 - 4.57 miles with a new running group. Tried out the Galloway method or run/walk method. It was fun trying something new and meeting new running friends.
Wednesday 4/20 - 35 minute tempo run.
Thursday 4/21 - Run with a friend.
I also found out that I am in for the Chicago Marathon!!! It is still hard for me to believe that I will be running my first full marathon in Chicago this fall, October 9th to be exact! I'm also happy that my twin sis, also got in so we get to meet up in Chicago which will be awesome! I am in search of a full marathon training plan so if you have one that you recommend let me know.
Friday 4/22 - Rest day
Saturday 4/23 - 7 mile long run and 4.9 mile hike with the fam.
Sunday 4/24 - Aggie Pride 5K with 6 year old.
The weekend was great! Saturday morning started out with my 7 mile long run. It was great to run with no longer sore quads.
Afterwards, we headed out for a hike in Oroville at North Table Mountain. It was another awesome hike. Look for a trip report on the blog soon!
After the hike we once again found a Baskin Robbins and had ourselves a treat. Hubby had a milkshake so his treat in not pictured. :)
Sunday, the whole fam participated in the Stride for Pride Aggie 5K at UC Davis campus. It was a great run and 6 year old surprised me with a 5+ minute PR. He ran so much faster than last time at the Sacramento Santa Run. I was so proud of him and of course Hubby and 5 year old as well! Recap will be on the blog soon too!
After the run we celebrated with donuts. :) Then relaxed most of the day plus some errands.
I think 6 year old's got the running bug because he wants to do another race. So guess what? We signed up for another 5K for next weekend. Looks like me and 6 year old will be doing the Pony Express Marathon 5K run on Sunday! :)

That sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
