Chicago Marathon Training Week 8: 8/8-8/14

It's been another busy week! We are currently in Seattle on our last trip before school starts. I managed to get all my runs in this week but I did have to make some modifications.

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 8/8 -
Scheduled: Off or cross training.
Actual: Off
Tuesday 8/9 -
Scheduled: 1 mile w/u, 12x400 meters @ 8:06-8:16 pace w/ 45 sec rest, 1 mile c/d
Actual: 1 mile w/u, 12x400 meters with average paces ranging 7:36-7:59 w/ 45 sec rest, 1 mile c/d.
Wednesday 8/10 -
Scheduled: 5 miles easy
Actual: 5 miles with a friend.
Thursday 8/11 -
Scheduled: 1 mile w/u, 3x2 miles @8:23-8:37 w/ 3 min rest, 1 mile c/d
Actual: Ran 1 mile w/u but only ran 2x2 miles with mile paces at (8:20, 8:21, 8:26, & 8:34). I was too tired to run another 2 miles at the faster pace so I ran the last two comfortable.
Friday 8/12 -
Scheduled: Off or cross training
Actual: Off
Saturday 8/13 -
Scheduled: 6 miles easy
Actual: Ran 5 miles partly with my sister (she had to do her long run so I only ran 2.5 with her then turned around). Made it a mile short since I knew I'd be hiking 7+ miles later.
Sunday 8/14 -
Scheduled: 16 miles easy
Actual: 14 miles. Cut this one short too because I wanted to get back to see my nephew play in his tennis tournament. I also ran it faster in the last 7 miles but felt great.

As to the weekend. We flew to Seattle Friday morning. It is so nice that my hometown is less than two hours by plane now vs. 6 hour flight from NJ. It was great because my sister was around with her boys. The kids love hanging out with their cousins.
Saturday morning, I ran with my sister for a bit on the Burke Gilman trail. It's always fun running with her no matter how far.
I ran my 5 miles then hurried home since the fam and I was meeting one of my best friends from high school to go hiking. We hiked to Lake Valhalla and also up to Mt. McCausland where there were some awesome views of the Cascades. I love the Pacific Northwest!
Hiking with friends is the best! Her 8 month old did awesome too! Trip report will be on the blog later. I still have to catch up on my other posts first, but it will be up eventually.
Sunday, I got my long run in and it was cut short because I wanted to see my nephew's tennis match. He is really good for an 8 year old.
After his match, we went to Juanita Beach park to play before getting lunch in Bellevue at Din Tai Fung, a yummy dumping place.
After lunch, we headed to Bellevue Park to play PokemonGo. This park is pretty crazy because everyone there is playing and it is funny when you see huge groups of people running at the same time to a certain area of the park to get a certain Pokemon character. I was unable to get a pic of this since my kids had my phone, but I wish I had to show you the crowds of people playing.

After almost two hours at the park, we went over to a friends house for a bbq. It was great for the kids to play some soccer in the back yard, while the adults got to catch up.
It was great seeing friends I had not seen in a while and catching up!
That sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
