DeskCycle Review: Great Way to Stay Active at Home and Work

I'm always looking for new ways to cross train and cycling is something that I have always wanted to do more of. I don't have any exercise equipment at home other than weights and bands, so when I was given the opportunity to review the DeskCycle, I was excited because this was the type of equipment that I was looking to get in the future anyway. I also loved the idea that I could bike and blog at the same time! I received a complimentary DeskCycle in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

When the DeskCycle arrived. I was pretty excited to open it up.
Hubby was away traveling when I got it and he is my usual go to for putting things together. I haven't had the best track record of putting together furniture. I have been known to redo some steps when putting together Ikea furniture, so I wasn't too sure about putting this together when I opened the box and saw all the multiple parts.
 And then the instructions.
However, I thought I would give it a shot and it was actually really easy to follow. There is a black wrench included in the box and that is the only tool needed. Loved that I did not have to search for Hubby's tool box! It did not take long to have it all set up and ready to go. I was impressed! The real test was trying it out to make sure it stayed together.
When I first tried it out, I set it up in front of the TV. I just got a chair and started to pedal. I loved that it was so quiet. There is also a resistance knob and you can change the resistance anywhere from 1-8 where the lower number is easiest and higher the hardest.

I biked for 30 minutes and loved that I could do so while watching TV! Everything worked, so I did put it together right. I was happy about that, and I did break a sweat, so it does the job getting some good exercise.
It also has this really nice display that shows you your speed, time, distance, and calories. I'm not one for calorie counting (and not sure if it is accurate), so all I look at the display for is time and distance.

Being a stay at home mom, it is sometimes hard to find time to exercise without having to wake up early in the morning before Hubby goes to work or having to wait later in the evening when Hubby gets home. A majority of my workouts are in the morning for that reason. What is great about the DeskCycle is that I can workout throughout the day when I have breaks from the busyness of taking care of the kiddos or playing. When I do have breaks, I usually sit at the computer and check emails, social media, and of course blog! Now with the DeskCycle, I can be active when I'm usually sedentary. I love that I can bike and blog at the same time! It is a great way to get more biking in, so more cross training for me! And wouldn't you know it, as I am typing this post, I am biking on the DeskCycle. :)

I also really like that it is easy to move. It is pretty sturdy so a bit heavy but not so heavy you can't move it often or get tired of moving it. I would have to say that this is a great piece of equipment. It is an awesome way to stay active at home and for those of you that want to stay active at work, it is great for under your desk.

I am very pleased with the DeskCycle and if you want an easy way to stay active at home or work, check it out at deskcycle.com.
