Seattle Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon Training Week 7: 5/16-5/22

This last week was great in terms of running, but not so great in terms of cross training. I slacked all week in the cross training department and was either too busy or when I could have done something just didn't feel like doing it. I'm really hoping this week will be better.

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 5/16 - Rest
Tuesday 5/17 - 5 mile run/walk with running friends.
Wednesday 5/18 - 4.5 miles with friends.
Thursday 5/19 - 5.4 miles with friends.
Friday 5/20 - Rest
Saturday 5/21 - 10 mile long run.
Sunday 5/22 - Rest

The weekend started out great. I got to catch up on some sleep and then run a great 10 mile long run to the Davis Arboretum and back. I ran the last 3 miles hard with negative splits 8:35, 8:31, & 8:25. It was really nice to see that I still had some speed late in the run.
Got a few errands done and then went to Hubby's friends 40th birthday party. It was a good time and the cake was delicious. :)
Sunday was a busy day. Hubby left for Virginia for a conference early in the morning so I'm on my own for most of the week. Luckily it was a pretty full day with 5 year old's preschool talent show and carnival. I helped set up and the kiddos had fun playing with the other kids. After the talent show, which btw was really cute, I helped out with the carnival.
Following the carnival was a birthday party for one of 6 year old's classmates. It was at the local gymnastics gym and the kiddos had a blast. I am seeing gymnastics classes in the future for 6 year old. Seems he loves it, especially the bars.
Both kiddos love the monkey bars. It's amazing how strong their upper bodies are and how weak mine is. :p Just tells me that I need to do more strength training.
That sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
