Seattle Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon Training Week 8: 5/23-5/29

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Today is Memorial Day so for many the long weekend is not over, which explains why my post is later than usual. Hoping everyone took some time to think about what today's holiday is about and remember all those that have died while serving our country. As to training, last week was once again a good week of runs. I didn't get my long run in but made it up this morning. My only cross training was backpacking over the weekend. I'd say hauling a pack and hiking with substantial elevation  gain should count for something right? :)

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 5/23 - 5 miles
Tuesday 5/24 - Did a combo of speed work and hill repeats. Did 9x400's on the highway overpass. Warm up and cool down included with walking breaks in between.
Wednesday 5/25 - Rest
Thursday 5/26 - 5 miles with friends.
Friday 5/27 - 4.6 miles with a friend.
Saturday 5/28 - Backpacking with the fam. 6+ miles of hiking.
Sunday 5/29 - Backpacking with the fam. 6+ miles of hiking.

Saturday and Sunday was a great adventure! We took the kiddos on their second backpacking trip to Snow Mountain and they did awesome! We backpacked 12+ miles and they enjoyed it. They are even looking forward to our next trip in July into Desolation Wilderness. I will leave you with a couple of pics from our trip as I will have the whole trip report on the blog later this week. :)
We did celebrate our trip by having sushi and ice cream for dinner. :) That sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
