Last Week's Workouts 6/30-7/6

My next scheduled race isn't until October (Wineglass Half Marathon), so it is pretty weird not having to run or train for anything at the moment. It is different but then it is also freeing in a way. I don't have to run a certain amount so it means I can run any amount of miles I want and not have to follow a running schedule. Turns out, I've always wanted to try the Focus T25 program, so I will be following that schedule for at least the next 5 weeks. I have the DVDs so I might as well use them. I've done some of the workouts but never really followed their schedule. I figure I might as well do it now that I have the time before I train for my half in October. I'll mix in running here and there, but I won't be running any serious mileage like I did when training for a half marathon.

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:
Monday 6/30 - Focus T25 Alpha Cardio - Great cardio workout that left me drenched in sweat!

Tuesday 7/1 - Focus T25 Alpha Speed 1.0 - Another great workout!
Wednesday 7/2- Focus T25 Alpha Total Body Circuit - This one was tough because it had lots of push ups and my arms are pretty weak! Great workout though!
Thursday 7/3 - Focus T25 Alpha Ab Intervals - Another tough workout!
Friday 7/4 - Focus T25 Alpha Cardio & Lower Focus  I missed running so much, that I switched out one of the two T25 workouts I was supposed to do today and ran 4 miles instead! :)
Saturday 7/5 - Rest - Family hike Torne Mountain/Osio Rock
Sunday 7/6 - Stretch - Beach day!

I'd have to say my first week of T25 has been great! I love how they are great workouts in only 25 minutes. They are a tough 25 minutes and leave me in a sweaty mess! :p I also like how I am working out and using other muscles that I haven't in a while. Doing all the squats and lunges definitely made my legs sore by Thursday. I felt it big time when I ran.

What do you do when you aren't training for a run? Do you still run or do you do cross train?

  1. Fun! I'll be running the Wineglass Half as well. I am going with my mom (she is walking the half). I am lucky to see a trainer at my gym 1-2/week, so we do HIIT, TRX, etc - she def holds me accountable!

  2. Great job with T25! If I'm not training for a run I'm cross training with Beachbody workouts. :)
