TBT Hiking Post From Hubby - Ptarmigan Ridge Trail

It's Thursday and that means another Throwback Thursday post from Hubby. This week's post is our hike on the Ptarmigan Ridge Trail. I loved this trail because you see views of Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan from the very start, and as you hiked further the views got even more amazing.

Sharon and I camped the night before not too far from Artist Point, so we were able to hit the trail early. The trail starts from the Artist Point parking area and we follow the Chain Lakes trail west toward Mt. Baker. Below is the view you get from the parking lot.
After about a mile there is a signed junction where we took the trail to the left for Ptarmigan Ridge. Here is a pic with both Mt. Baker and the Coleman Pinnacle (pointy rock on the right) in the background.
Walked through some snowy parts.
Terrific views!
The further we went on the trail, the closer we got to Mt. Baker.
This we the point where we turned around.
Goats!
Heading back.
We walked down to the lake.
We did over 10 miles with the stop at the lake. It was a great day of hiking with spectacular views.
