Goals for 2015

It's Tuesday and I am linking up with hosts Jessica Joy and Jill Conyers for their The Fit Dish Link-Up every Tuesday.

Today' s topic is "What's next? Goals for 2015."
When I saw the topic, I thought it was great. This was the perfect opportunity to actually write down my goals. I think the last time I had to write goals was when I worked full time and had to for work (so it's been a while). ;) I'm not one for actually writing goals down as I usually just have them in my head. So at least with this post, I can actually see them and it will be nice to look back at them by years end and see where I'm at. With that said, here are my goals for 2015:

- PR in any race distance. I PR'd in every race distance this year and I know that it will be difficult to do that again, so I am making a goal to at least PR in one race, any race distance.

- Maintain being active with the fam. Goal is to keep hiking and doing fun active things with the kiddos.
- Continue doing speed work. I think that speed work helped in my races a lot. I would like to continue this and maybe do more. I'm hoping to do speed work with running friends as the last time I did, I was pushed to go a lot faster and it was great.

- Add more core, strength training, yoga. All three of these will help improve my running. Core especially is my weakness. I would love to hold plank for 3 minutes. I was at 1:30 but I haven't been consistently doing it, so getting even that is tough now. I would also love to hold side plank longer as well. I rarely do weights so I know I need to incorporate them more as well. As to yoga, I would love to learn more poses and just get more flexible. I am so not flexible! It would be great to improve on that.
- Eat better and learn new recipes! I really need to eat better. On the weekends we tend to eat fast food. I really need to be better about eating more healthier options. What I also really need to work on is broadening my cooking options. I seem to make the same dishes over and over again, so what I need is more variety. It's difficult because I'm not the best cook and need to make things that are easy and not so time consuming. This year I hope to actually make use of the recipes I find on Pinterest and actually make them!

Those are five of my goals for the year. What is one of yours?

  15. I am with you on the recipes and cooking more. My goodness, I run out of ideas so fast! I thought about making a list of 10 core recipes that I am good at and enjoy. Those will be my regulars and then I can add or replace other recipes whenever I am feeling more adventurous. I only have 6 on my list so far, but that will be one of my goals for 2015.
