Gratitude Letter to My Health

It's Tuesday and I am linking up with hosts Jessica Joy and Jill Conyers for their The Fit Dish Link-Up every Tuesday.

Today's topic is "a gratitude letter to our health." I really like this topic as it made me think of how thankful I am for good health and how important our bodies are. Here's my letter:
Dear Body,

Thank you for giving me good health! You have kept me free from major illness and injury throughout the years, and I am very grateful for that. You have gone through two pregnancies with weight gains and losses teaching me that there are ups and downs but with exercise and determination we got where we wanted to be.

This year with great health, you have given me an awesome year of running. I have been able to do things I never thought I could do. I was able to PR in each race distance this year! I did not expect to improve so much in running but I did. Age definitely doesn't matter as you have shown me that you can still do your best as you get older.

Thank you for giving me the ability to see beautiful scenery and amazing sites! You have taken me up challenging mountains with breathtaking views!
Thank you for making me feel good. Being able to exercise and run makes me feel great which makes me feel positive throughout the day. It also gives me the energy I need to watch the kiddos, clean, cook, do errands, laundry, etc..

Thank you for for being strong. It takes a lot to train for multiple half marathons and can wear you down. Running for two hours is no joke. It's tough but you pull through and with no injuries. That is very important to me. Thanks for pulling through the tough workouts and pavement pounding with miles and miles of running. I am so thankful I have not had any serious injury that has stopped me from doing what I enjoy most running, hiking and playing.

Thank you for being flexible. I know that sometimes I don't take care of you the way that I should. I know that I should try to get more sleep at times and that I could do better with my eating habits so thank you for being good to me even though I am not always treating you the best.

Thank you body for serving me well and giving me good health. I am very grateful!

Love,
Sharon

  2. Great post! I am always amazed how our bodies are capable of holding up to long runs and hard workouts. As long as I treat it well my body holds on. I too believe age means nothing, i am 37 and only just getting started!

It's always amazing to me how much "abuse" our bodies can take through our chosen fitness favorites, but I'm so glad that they do. <3
