TBT Hiking Post from Hubby - Kendall Peak & the Katwalk

It's Thursday!! That means another Throwback Thursday post from Hubby. Today's post is our hike to Kendall Peak and Kendall Katwalk. Enjoy!

Kendall Peak, July 29, 2007
The trail starts out on part of the PCT or Pacific Crest Trail. Then from the trail starts an unmaintained scramble to the top of Kendall Peak.

Here we are at the top of Kendall Peak. You can see the canister left by the Mountaineers with the summit registry below our backpack.
Heading down.
Once down from the peak we continued on to the Katwalk. It's hard to see from the pic below, but I'm there on the Katwalk. On this section dynamite was used to blast this portion of trail out of the granite mountainside. The Katwalk is wide and safe to cross. It actually looks scarier than it really is. It's not bad at all.
Total distance ~12 miles.
