Half Marathon Training up to the Philly Half: 11/17-11/23

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 11/17 - Rest
Tuesday 11/18 - 4 mile run while in DC. Very cold run but at least the sun was coming out.
Wednesday 11/19 - Supposed to be a 30 min tempo run but it was hard with some of the traffic lights. It was a beautiful day but another cold one.
Thursday 11/20 - 2 mile run with running friends, tapering for the Philly Half.
Friday 11/21 - Rest
Saturday 11/22 - Rest
Sunday 11/23 - Philly Half Marathon. I PR'd by one second. Race recap coming soon!
Wow! Another great run! I didn't think I'd PR this race but I'll take one second! It was a perfect day to run 13.1 miles and everything seemed to fall into place, so I'm happy. This was my last half for the year. Looking forward to next year already! Haha! Oh wait, I've actually got a 5K Turkey trot on Thursday that should be fun. After that, I don't have a race scheduled until April.

What to do before then...I was asked to do a run streak of a mile a day, every day from Thanksgiving to New Year's. A 36 day run streak and I'm considering it. One mile isn't so bad, so we'll see. I've got till Thursday to decide. :)

How was your week?
Would you consider doing a run streak?

  2. 1 second PR - pretty awesome! I am going to try the RW run streak - will see if I make it (my longest streak is 8 days).

  3. Thanks Sherry! Definitely consider doing the run streak. I think I'm going to do it. Then when we're in town for the holidays we can run together! :)
