Half Marathon Training Week 8: 9/1-9/7

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 9/1 - 4.5 miles on the D&R Canal trail.

Tuesday 9/2 - Rest. Went to the US Open. Check out my blog post here.
Wednesday 9/3 - 40 minute tempo run.
Thursday 9/4 - 3 mile run plus a little strength training.
Friday 9/5 - Tried PiYo Core for the first time. Some of the moves are tough! I like it though.
Saturday 9/6 - Yoga in the morning. It was my first experience doing yoga outdoors. Yoga is hard! It's even harder when it's hot and humid out. I was sweating through most of the session!
Sunday 9/7 - 10 mile run with a local Moms Run this Town group. It was great meeting more members and nice running at Mercer County Park again!
Also did a short hike with the fam. Hike was cut short due to seeing lots of poison ivy by the trail.
Another decent training week for me. I got in all the runs I needed and got in a PiYo workout along with Yoga, so I am happy with the week. I am starting to like PiYo and yoga. I hope to do more to get better at it. At yoga I was off balance quite a bit, but I'm sure it will improve once I do more. I'm looking forward to trying more PiYo this week!

How was your week?

  1. Great job this week! That's too bad about having to cut that hike short due to poison ivy. Yikes.

  3. Thanks! Yeah, it wasn't fun having to turn around, but better to be safe.

  4. You have the nicest places to run! I always feel so awkward when I do Yoga but I know I need it! You do a good job of mixing it all up!
