Half Marathon Training Week 7: 8/25-8/31

Here's a recap of last week's workouts:

Monday 8/25 -Rest
Tuesday 8/26 -I was planning to do 4.5 miles at they gym in the morning, but when I got to the gym it was closed due to a small fire. As a backup plan, I tried out PiYo for the first time at home. I did PiYo's Define Lower Body workout. It wasn't bad. I wasn't sure if I was doing the moves right, but it's a good start. I did get my 4.5 miles later in the afternoon and I felt pretty strong running.

Wednesday 8/27 - Got some speed work done. I did 8x400's at 5K pace. It was pretty hot out and I ran the 400's hard, so I was dripping sweat when I was done.
Thursday 8/28 - Did PiYo Sweat in the morning as the gym was still closed. I liked this one a lot better than the one I did on Tuesday. Also got a good 3 mile run in the afternoon.
Friday 8/29 - Rest
Saturday 8/30 - 10 mile long run with my friend Laurel. Ran further than I was supposed to, but was helping Laurel out with her training for a half marathon coming up sooner than mine. Felt pretty good running and I love how the miles go faster with a friend! :)
Also did a hike with the fam, the Castle Point Trail. Blog post coming soon!
Sunday 8/31 - Rest
Overall a great week. No T25 this week but got in a couple of PiYo sessions. I'm hoping to improve my flexibility with PiYo. I need more strength training, but I did get a little in with PiYo Sweat. There were push-ups in the workout which was awesome. I'm also pretty happy that I felt really good running the 10 miles this week as my long run. We did it at a good pace and I wasn't struggling at all which was nice. I think that keeping up with the training schedule and incorporating some cross training is really helping me.

How did your week go?
